《 島の蝕 》

2019年12月。南太平洋、ニューカレドニア群島の北東にある、小さな三日月形をした砂の島、ウベアに戻る。 そこでミシェルという友達が紹介してくれた、ゴサナ族のカナック牧師であるワダワ・ネウジェンに会う。 彼は私が書いた詩を、イアイ語という、ウヴェア島で話され、その話者はますます稀になっている言語に翻訳してくれた。島とその言語は少しずつ消えながら、言葉の交換は隠喩的な地図を描き、目に見えない詩の空間を活性化する。

December 2019. I come back to Ouvea, a tiny crescent of sand in the North-East side of New Caledonia archipelago, in the South Pacific. There, my friend Michel introduced me to Wandawa Neudjen, a Kanak pastor from the Gossanah tribe. He accepts to translate one of my poems into iaai, an only vocal language spoken in Ouvéa, and whose speakers are becoming increasingly rare. While the island and its dialects seem to disappear little by little, the words exchanged draw metaphorical maps and activate invisible spaces of poetry.

Décembre 2019. Je retourne sur Ouvéa, petit croissant de sable au Nord-Est de la Nouvelle-Calédonie, dans le Pacifique Sud. Là-bas, par l’intermédiaire de mon ami Michel, je rencontre Wandawa Neudjen, pasteur kanak de la tribu de Gossanah, qui accepte de traduire un de mes poèmes en iaai, langue orale, parlée à Ouvéa, et dont les locuteurs se font de plus en plus rares. Si l’île et ses dialectes s’affinent jusqu’à s’éclipser peu à peu, les paroles échangées dessinent des cartes métaphoriques et réactivent les lieux invisibles de la poésie.

ニューカレドニア生まれ。現在、東京藝術大学大学院美術研究科博士後期課程美術専攻在籍。「ゲニウス・ロキ/場の精」という異文化的問題を通じて、人と、人が住む、或いは通り過ぎる場所の間で現れる「もつれ合い」の、詩的な性質を美術的な実践で探る。現在の研究は、出生地ニューカレドニア、育った場所フランス、そして現在住んでいる日本に拠点をおく。これら3つの地域間の往復の旅、そして学際的な出会いから、エッセイフィルム、テキスト、パフォーマンスなどを制作している。
